For buyers comparing a tear gas respirator, riot-control respirator or riot-control gas mask, this Israeli Sapphire kit combines the full-head hood, a factory-sealed M80 40mm filter and a hydration straw in one configuration.
The Sapphire uses a hood format rather than the same mask-to-face sealing surface as a conventional full-face gas mask. Before relying on the system for tear gas or any other specific agent, verify the hood, filter and complete-system instructions and confirm suitability for the intended conditions.
Need extra filters? Stock up with our Easy Breathing 40mm NATO NBC filter 2-pack. Looking to extend your setup? The 40mm NATO hose extension is also available separately.
Free worldwide shipping. 30-day returns accepted.
This listing is configured and marketed for riot-control preparedness. Suitability for tear gas or another specific agent depends on the complete system, selected filter, condition and correct use, so verify the current product documentation before relying on it.
No. It is a full-head respirator hood rather than a conventional tight-fitting full-face gas mask.
Yes. This listing includes the Sapphire hood, a factory-sealed Israeli M80 40mm filter and the listed hydration straw.
No. The ONYX 45 powered-air blower is a separate optional upgrade for this listing.
Packed it with my camera gear and practiced putting it on quickly. After a couple of tries, the sequence felt natural.
The transparent hood makes face-to-face communication much easier than a dark mask. That matters in my work.
I wanted this for reporting around demonstrations, where losing peripheral vision is a real problem for me. The transparent hood lets me see people approaching from the side, glance down at a camera and still communicate face-to-face. I practiced putting it on with my equipment bag before adding it to the rest of my kit.
Good mask, as described
Great a1 thanks you

Alles gut. Danke
Everything came as promised. Looks great!
The loose-fitting full-head design does not rely on the tight facial seal of a conventional mask and can accommodate many beards and eyeglasses. They must not obstruct the hood or airflow path.
The listing includes the Sapphire full-head hood, a factory-sealed 40mm threaded filter, and hydration straw. No powered blower is included unless the product page explicitly states otherwise.
It can connect to a compatible 40mm powered-air blower and hose, such as the separately sold ONYX 45 configuration. Confirm all components before assembly.
Use only the configuration and limitations described in the supplied product instructions. A filter, connection, and wearer interface must form a complete suitable system.
It refers to the EN 148-1 / Rd40 threaded interface. STANAG 4155 is commonly referenced for NATO interoperability; the connection alone does not establish filter performance.
Protect the hood and visor from crushing, scratches, heat, sunlight, chemicals, and moisture. Keep the filter sealed and follow the marked storage and expiration instructions.

Everything I expected was in the box. I checked the threads, visor and straps, then did a short fit test at home. Everything was fine.
Factory seal intact, canister clean, no marks. Exactly what I wanted for storage.
Works for me.
Would order again.

The mask seems well made, but I am still struggling to get the rear straps comfortable around the back of my head. I am keeping it, although the fit has not fully convinced me yet.
Would order again.
